RFI Obtains ISO 14001 Environmental Accreditation

Health & Safety and Environmental issues have always had a high priority within RFI. Now, in line with the company's policy of continuous improvement in all areas of its business activities, we have obtained ISO14001 accreditation. RFI Shielding Limited

ISO14001 is designed to enable individual businesses to create and monitor an Environmental Management System (EMS). To achieve accreditation we have completed the following programme:

  • Preparatory review of our existing environmental procedures;
  • Creation of an Environmental Policy;
  • Setting of staff responsibilities;
  • Maintenance of a library of legislation relating to our activities;
  • Compilation of a register of significant effects relating to our activities;
  • Creation of an Environmental Manual;
  • Recording our progress and carrying out internal audits.

We have now completed all phases of the programme and have successfully passed all of the assessment criteria.

It is expected that application of the EMS to ISO14001 will also result in increased efficiencies and reduced costs, together with the obvious environmental benefits.
